Madagascar Hosts a Mifa Campus International – Production!

Share

After Israel and Nigeria, the 3rd Mifa Campus International – Production was held in Madagascar from 21st to 24th November 2023.

Remember, this scheme is designed to support professional projects and therefore to select applicants who want to specialise and participate in some way in developing a local ecosystem.

The workshop is inspired by the French model but adapted to the specific economic and social characteristics of the territory concerned.

To achieve this, our coordinator, Ivan Zuber (Laïdak Films) was assisted by Virginie Giachino (Doncvoilà productions), Lucile Canault (France Télévisions) as well as a local producer of live-action films: Mamihasina Raminosoa.

The workshop opened the floor to individual and group discussions with 5 participants from very different backgrounds: Antonio Andriamifidy, Gaël Rakotomanga, Louisette Ratsivahiny, Valisoa Hochane Rakotoniaina, and Zo Tahiana Hariminoson.

Sometimes self-taught and often talented, they can bring about change. Training courses, specialisation and co-production are all avenues to explore as they begin to develop their own ecosystem, opening up to Africa and then to the rest of the world.

The workshop took place as part of the Madagascourt Film Festival, supported by the Institut français in Madagascar, as a result of the Africa2020 Season.
