A Tribute to Hungarian Animation

For the 2025 edition, the Annecy Festival is paying tribute to Hungarian animation, whose influence has been steadily growing in Europe since the 20^th century.

There are 9 special programmes to be able to celebrate Hungarian animation throughout the week.

Curated by Anna Ida Orosz, animation specialist at the Hungarian National Film Institute Film Archive, these programmes will showcase the breadth and expertise of this Hungarian art. In particular, the women's productions in recent years have emerged as the most striking from both a visual and thematic perspective.
