2025 Identity

The Festival is fast approaching, so you must be excited to learn more about it! To give you a taster, we reveal the creations that will form the visual identity and give the mood for this year's edition!
The traditional official poster, a teaser of this year's Partners' trailer produced by a very prestigious production company, and the opening credits by students from GOBELINS Paris. An entire programme promising a vibrant and animated Festival!

Hungarian animation joins in the colourful migration to the Annecy Festival

At the 2025 edition, the Annecy Festival is paying tribute to Hungarian animation!

This year's poster was created by Artist and Filmmaker Raman Djafari who uses both 2D and 3D techniques in their various illustration and animation projects. Through poetic imagery and fragmented narratives, they hope to reach into a realm of honest emotionality, creating surreal worlds and characters that oscillate between the familiar and the fantastical. Raman has directed music videos for artists from across the globe, like Elton John, Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Ashnikko, as well as having worked with clients like Adult Swim, Spotify and The New Yorker.

Affiche Annecy 2025

A few words from Marcel Jean and Raman Djafari

"The Annecy 2025 poster is colourful and full of movement to celebrate the return of the festivalgoers, like migratory birds, while also illustrating a genuine lovers' dance with two giant birds making a sort of heart shape at the centre of the image. Hungary's colours are standing proud for all to see as they are this year's guest country.
The poster's designer, Raman Djafari, is an Annecy regular; they are one of the best video clip artists around, and we are devoting a special session to this art. This is a vibrant poster full of passion, just like our Festival!"
Marcel Jean, Annecy Festival's Artistic Director

"The Annecy Festival celebrates animation and its infinite potential. I wanted to create a poster that not only captures a vibrant event but also evokes a sense of magic and wonder. Drawing inspiration from the visual rhythm of traditional Hungarian folk art and Kalocsa embroidery, I created the design from their delicate floral motifs – often featuring tulips, roses and hearts. My linework style and composition are directly inspired by 18th century Japanese woodcuts.
I hope I have managed to capture the joy and spectacle that this festival represents for me and for innumerable animators across the world every year."
Raman Djafari

The 2025 edition's poster is a perfect fusion between Hungarian animation, represented by Hungary's cultural and distinctive motifs and the City of Annecy that we can identify in the illustration's setting (the mountains and lake in the background). The artist has employed flowers that are traditionally used as motifs in popular Hungarian art to create such a strikingly colourful poster. These migrating birds with human heads represent the annual return of animation and festivalgoers to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Take flight in the direction of this 2025 edition, where Hungarian animation and the Annecy Festival will come together and celebrate the best in animation!

The Partners trailer by Warner Bros. Animation

This year's trailer was created by Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe and directed by Grant Orchard (creator of Hey Duggee), with Ben Bocquelet (creator of The Amazing World of Gumball), as Executive Producer. It features the world's most famous rabbit and is a cute nod to the Festival's mascot.

Before discovering the trailer in full on the first day of the Festival, we'd like to show you a teaser of this exciting collaboration between Warner Bros. Animation and the Annecy Festival.

“Annecy is the highlight of our year and it's an honor for Warner Bros. Animation to participate in such a meaningful way. I want to thank Marcel and the Festival leadership for entrusting us with this year's trailer and to Ben Bocquelet for his creative vision. We look forward to our time at this year's Festival and celebrating this artform that we love so much”, explained Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.

GOBELINS Paris

Every year, for nearly fifty years, students from the animation program at GOBELINS Paris have created short films to open every Festival screening, continuing a long-standing and cherished tradition.

For the 2025 edition, ten original films have been produced by students from the Bachelor in Character Animation and Animated Filmmaking program in tribute to Hungary.
These works are a testament to the school’s academic excellence and the creativity of its students, who boldly explore new techniques, artistic approaches and contemporary perspectives on the animated medium. Each screening is thus preceded by a short film that showcases the diversity, inventiveness and expertise of a new generation of animation professionals.

GOBELINS Paris warmly thanks its students for their dedication, talent and contribution to celebrating both Hungarian animation and the art of animation as a whole.

Every year, the students take us on a journey of discovery through their diverse visuals, while celebrating the art of animation. This year, they are putting Hungarian animation in the spotlight, a big up to them!
