Yet again, the world capital of animation film was abuzz with artists, industry professionals, young talent in training and enthusiasts from across the globe, in a warm (boiling hot!) and welcoming atmosphere.
After 7 intensive days celebrating and sharing our common passion for animation film in the Festival cinema theatres and at the Mifa, the 2024 Annecy Festival drew to a close on Saturday 15th June with the announcement of all the award winners.
Annecy Classics breathes new life into animation film classics offering everyone the chance to discover some real treasures. It is a way of paying tribute to the heritage of this art form that appeals to all audiences. Annecy Presents enhances its selection with 4 new non-competitive films, 16 films in all to discover out of competition.
Despite being in the middle of shooting his next film The Phoenician Scheme, filmmaker Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The French Dispatch) will do us the great honour of coming to Annecy to talk about animation film at this year’s International Animation Film Festival, which will be held on 9th to 15th June 2024.
