Prolific Producer, Writer, and Animator Mike Judge, co-creator of King of the Hill and creator of Beavis and Butt-Head, will receive an Honorary Cristal at this year's Annecy International Animation Film Festival, taking place June 21–27, 2026. The award recognizes Judge's illustrious career spanning more than three decades and his outstanding contributions to the art of animation.
According to Marcel Jean, the Annecy Festival's Artistic Director, "Mike Judge is a cultural icon who has created legendary characters, pioneered new formats, and seamlessly transitioned from animation to live action. His visit is a momentous occasion that reflects our determination to highlight the dynamism, social relevance and rebellious audacity of American animation series for adults. Mike Judge's influence on two generations of creators is undeniable: he has taken social satire to new heights, and we wanted to celebrate his work and him."
King of the Hill Executive Producers Greg Daniels (co-creator) and Saladin K. Patterson (showrunner) will join Judge in Annecy for a Screening Event honoring his legacy. The conversation will celebrate the enduring cultural impact of both King of the Hill and Beavis and Butt-Head, while also offering audiences an exclusive preview of King of the Hill season 15 as well as a Signing session.

Mike Judge is the creator of the groundbreaking animated series Beavis and Butt-Head and co-creator of the Emmy® Award–winning King of the Hill, two landmark animated shows that redefined television comedy. A writer, director, producer and voice actor, Judge has shaped modern animation for more than three decades. He also created acclaimed series including Silicon Valley and Tales from the Tour Bus, and wrote and directed his own live-action films, Office Space and Idiocracy.

Greg Daniels is a five-time Emmy-award-winning writer, showrunner, director and producer, responsible for several of the most iconic series in television history. Daniels developed The Office for American television and created Upload. He co-created Parks and Recreation, the Office spinoff The Paper, Space Force, the reality format My Mom, Your Dad, which has been produced in 11 countries, and, with Mike Judge, the long-running and beloved animated hit King of the Hill.

Saladin K. Patterson is Executive Producer and Showrunner of Hulu’s critically acclaimed revival of the iconic animated series King of the Hill. Creator of ABC's Peabody Award-winning series The Wonder Years, a reimagining of the beloved award-winning series of the same name, Patterson's extensive credits as an executive producer and showrunner also include the comedy series The Last O.G., The Bernie Mac Show, and the animated series The Cops.
Season 14 Synopsis: After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas, to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.

The series stars Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom and Toby Huss.
