Balentes

In Sardinia in 1940, in early WWII, horses are stolen from a military farm. The protagonists are two boys, Ventura and Michele, aged 11 and 14 with idealistic intentions: free the horses so they do not die in war. They succeed, but on their way back they are intercepted by the rural militia and one of them is killed. Michele's sister, Anna, Ventura’s close friend, must identify his body.
