International Mifa Campus – AniMela (India)

During the workshop, which took place from 16th to 20th February 2026, participants were mentored by industry experts Delphine Niccolini, Reza Riahi and Johanna Goldschmidt to assist them in developing their projects and preparing their pitches.

Upon completion of this support programme, the participants showcased their projects at the AniMela Festival, held in Mumbai from 19^th to 22^nd February 2026, to an audience of industry professionals comprising studios, producers, financiers and potential collaborators. As usual, the event was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, as the auditorium was filled to capacity and many spectators queued to attend the presentations. Representatives from major studios and platforms were also in attendance, including Warner Bros., Netflix, Sony and Jio.

This year's jury comprised Aparna Purohit (CEO of Aamir Khan Productions), Amit Sharma (a National Award-winning director and producer) and Silas Hickey (Co-Founder of Custom Nuts and former Turner/WarnerMedia Senior Director of Development APAC). They were so impressed by the quality of the presentations that, exceptionally, they awarded the Best Pitch prize to two of the five projects in the running:

• Error#404 (feature film), directed by Farha Khatun, creative direction by Govinda Sao
• The Myth of Data (TV series), directed by Dhruva Rao

Following the pitch session, an industry mixer was also organised to provide the most promising Indian talent, including IMC alumni, with the opportunity to network and establish professional connections with key industry figures.

This collaborative spirit will continue at the upcoming Mifa, which will take place from 23rd to 26th June 2026 in Annecy. During the event, the "Namaste Mifa" Partners Pitches will be held for the third consecutive year, providing a platform to showcase new projects coming out of India.
