2024 Mifa Pitch Prizes & Partners

Through the generous support of both its official and grant partners, every year, the Mifa has the great pleasure of seeing numerous projects receive an important boost to their development.

Short Films Category

In partnership with the SACD

ARTE France Prize: pre-purchase of a short film to be broadcast on Court-Circuit, an ARTE programme about short films.
Ciclic Prize: 35,000 EUR and a 6-month animation residency in Vendôme.
NEF Animation Prize: a creativity grant and 1-month residency for an animated short film project at Fontevraud Abbey.
Open Workshop Prize: 2–6-month residency at The Animation Workshop (Viborg, Denmark) and a 3,000 EUR grant for an animated short film project.
SACD Prize: 5,600 EUR financial support for an animated short film project and invitation to the Annecy Festival for the winner(s).
Studios Alhambra Prize: covers post-production work on a short film project of a value of 2,000 EUR (by choice: picture editing, sound editing, live editing, music recording, sound design, 5.1 mixing). Excludes technical and creative teams.
Mifa Prize – Animation du Monde: an invitation to the next edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Market (Mifa accreditation and accommodation) for the project leader(s) of a short film, feature film or TV series/special project.

Feature Films Category

In partnership with Kasagi Labo

Ciclic Prize: 25,000 EUR and a 2-month animation residency in Vendôme. This prize is for a TV series/special and/or feature film projects.
Cristal Publishing Prize: covers the creation and fabrication of the original music for a feature film trailer (in our recording studios in La Rochelle, France).
Kasagi Labo Prize: 5,000 EUR grant or 10,000 EUR purchase option for the development and finance of an animation feature film.
SACD Prize: 7,000 EUR financial support for an animation feature film project as well as invitation to the Annecy Festival for the winner(s).
TitraFilm Prize: this covers post-production work on a feature film pilot or development assistance (voice recording, recording studio, artistic direction of voices, sound design, sound editing, sound effects, 5.1 surround mixing, mastering). Excludes creative and technical teams.
Mifa Prize – Animation du Monde: an invitation to the next edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Market (Mifa accreditation and accommodation) for the project leader(s) of a short film, feature film or TV series/special project.

TV Series & Specials Category

Disney+ Prize for a New Series: 5,000 EUR to help with development.
TitraFilm Prize: covers postproduction work on a TV series or special pilot, or assistance in development (voice recording, recording studio, artistic direction of voices, sound design, sound editing, sound effects, 5.1 surround mixing, mastering). Excludes creative and technical teams.
Mifa Prize – Animation du Monde: an invitation to the next edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Market (Mifa accreditation and accommodation) for the project leader(s) of a short film, feature film or TV series/special project.

Digital Experiences Category

Weird Market Prize: full accreditation and meals are included for the Weird Market’s 16t^h edition, which will be held in Valencia on 1^st to 6^th October 2024.
The Stereopsia Booster Prize: direct selection and 800 EUR-fee waiver for The Booster coaching and pitching programme at Stereopsia EUROPE.

Mifa Pitches

Each year, the Mifa Pitches aim to showcase the best original animation film projects in development. Initially in 4 categories — Feature Films, Short Films, TV Series & Specials and Digital Experiences — the Pitches are becoming more elaborate every year.

These Pitch sessions are a privileged time to discover the universes and sensitivities in their own right, which reflect young international creativity.

Mifa Pitches Presentation

This year, more than 700 project leaders from across the world apply to the Mifa Pitches with the aim of presenting their project to a professional audience at Annecy who are searching for original content.
A tough selection process in all the categories usually gives about 40 projects their opportunity. You can see them each year at the Mifa during the 4 Pitch sessions, specific to each format.
An exclusive myriad of the current creations to allow you to be the first to position yourself on tomorrow’s projects!
