Presented at Sundance 2021, the documentary Claydream retraces Will Vinton’s career, considered as the father of Claymation. This Walt Disney of modern times revolutionized the world of animation in the 1980s and ‘90s. Compiled around interviews with this charismatic pioneer and his close collaborators, the film retraces the rise and fall of Will Vinton Studios, Academy-Award winners as well as an Emmy.

Director Marq Evans (The Glamour and the Squalor) brings life to the battle between art and business with this affectionate and perceptive of an artist who gave his heart and soul to his job.

With Annecy Classics, the Festival pays tribute to timeless shorts and features to remind us of the great moments in the history of animation. It highlights avant-garde techniques, the journey of brilliant directors, and celebrates key events. A programme to rediscover the great classics!
