Minions: The Rise of Gru

You’ve definitely heard his name before! Kyle Balda is one of the fathers of the acclaimed Minions alongside Pierre Coffin. He co-directed Minions: The Rise of Gru with Brad Ableson and Jonathan Del Val, screened during the Festival's Opening Ceremony. The Lorax is also thanks to Kyle Balda.

He has worked on many animation films including The Flintstones (1994), The Mask (1994), Mars Attacks! (1996), A Bug’s Life (1998), and Monsters, Inc. (2001). He was also Animation Director on Toy Story 2 in 1999.
