"The Animators' Animator" Richard Williams' film The Thief and the Cobbler is rising from its ashes.

Richard Williams gained fame for his animation work on the two-time Oscar-winning Who Framed Roger Rabbit?. But his name is also known for his film The Thief and the Cobbler which painstakingly earned the record for the longest ever film in the making.
The film's production began in 1964 and wasn't released until 1995 as a shortened version, before the "director's cut" was finally released in 2013 after many twists and turns.

In 2008, Richard Williams gracefully accepted to be a member of the jury for feature films and this year, he's coming back to the Annecy Festival to present his work to you with two exceptional screenings.

Synopsis

Set in the period of Arabian Nights in a golden city protected by three golden orbs that mysteriously go missing when a one-eyed warrior is about to attack the city. Tack, a cobbler, and Princess Yum-Yum decide to find the orbs. They'll have to face up to Zigzag the evil vizier and an unlucky thief.
