  Localising animation production in France

CITIA and the Pôle Image Magelis have joined with the RECA in their concern expressed after the announcement that both the Néomis Animation studio and MoonScoop have ceased their activities.

The economic climate of the French animation sector is becoming more fragile due to funding difficulties and competition from territories with tax incentive systems and low labour costs.

Patrick Eveno, CITIA CEO, and Frédéric Cros, Managaing Director of the Pôle Image Magelis, are supporting the RECA (Réseau des écoles françaises de cinéma d’animation) in its request to make adjustments to aid initiatives and the development of means for efficient cooperation in the localisation of production in France.

This request was also made in November 2013 at the Rencontres Animation Formation in Angoulême.
