France TV Celebrates Animation
France Télévisions, partner of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, will offer a special programme line-up to celebrate the event.
From Thursday 8th June to Sunday 18th June, more than twenty animation films will be broadcast on France TV channels, to showcase a wide range of national and European creation.
The selected films include first works, films in competition this year, award-winning films from last year’s edition and new releases. A real animated journey!
For the feature films
Five animation feature films will be broadcast on France TV channels!
On France 4 there will be two animation film afternoons, an evening special will be broadcast on Culturebox on Tuesday 13th June and a dedicated offer will be available on the france.tv platform. An exceptional programme line-up aimed at a very broad audience.
On the programme:
- Calamity, a Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary, by Rémi Chayé (2020)
- Yakari, a Spectacular Journey, by Xavier Giacometti and Toby Genkel (2020)
- The Illusionist, by Sylvain Chomet based on the script by Jacques Tati (2010)
Also, on the france.tv platform starting on Thursday 8th June:
- Tito and the Birds (Tito e os Pássaros, film brésilien), by Gustavo Steinberg, Gabriel Bitar and André Catoto Dias (2018)
- The Illusionist, by Sylvain Chomet based on the script by Jacques Tati (2010)
- Revenge of the Humanoids, by Albert Barillé (1983 – reworked in 2022 in 4K)
For the short films
Starting on Thursday 8th June, discover a collection of 13 short films on the france.tv platform. Two of them are in the Annecy Festival 2023’s Official Selection. Four short films are brand-new releases.
On the programme:
- Amok, by Balázs Turai – Cristal for a Short Film at the Annecy Festival in 2022
- Salvation Has No Name, by Joseph Wallace – Annecy 2023 Official Selection
- Money and Happiness, by Ana Nedeljković and Nikola Majdak Jr – Annecy 2023 Official Selection
The short film new releases:
- A Ferris Wheel in the Desert, by Lénaïg Le Moigne
- Black Slide, by Uri Lotan
- A Tiny Number, by Luc Lavault
Also, starting from 11th June, children and family-oriented animation specials will be broadcast on Okoo and France 4
