26th May 2017

  Meet up with Joann Sfar

Catch up with Joann Sfar at the Work in Progress session for "Little Vampire".

As part of the Work in Progress session on the feature film Little Vampire, the Annecy Festival is thrilled to welcome French filmmaker and illustrator Joann Sfar.

Along with producer Antoine Delesvaux and the CEO of Ateliers Granovsky, Dimitri Granovsky, Joann Sfar will chat with the audience about the progress he’s made on his upcoming film.

A leading figure in France’s comic book scene, this accomplished artist owes his fame to his comic book series The Rabbi’s Cat, Dungeon and Little Vampire. His love for film naturally led him behind the camera with the animated adaption of The Rabbi’s Cat, but also with the very personal Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life, which he presented as being the transposition of his comic book world in the film "with puppets, songs, poetry and costumes – to illustrate my personal vision of Gainsbourg’s fantasies".

Comic books, animated films, fictional features, Joann Sfar is fond of using diverse formats and genres. He’s recently started writing novels where he explores questions about religion, identity and philosophy.

Before the upcoming release of Little Vampire, the Festival invites you to share an intimate moment with its director on Wednesday 14th June at 11:15 am.

Don’t miss this Meeting and reserve your seat soon.
